What is the age requirement?

You must be 18 or older to participate. Sorry, no exceptions!

What level are the tournaments?

All Yankee tournaments are competitive and players should have all volleyball fundamentals.  They should be able to serve, pass, attack, and understand advanced rotations such as 5-1 and 6-2.

How much do I pay?

All Yankee tournaments are hosted with the backing of USAV and NERVA (New England Region Volleyball Association). You will need a valid USAV membership in order to participate in Yankee Tournaments. A USAV membership is $50 for the year, or a one week pass for $30. All of our venues are vetted and all players are insured. Depending on the Venue, costs range from $175 to $225. For returning players, a tournament typically costs $30-40.

How do I play?

What does C+, B-, C rating mean?

The Yankee rating system is based on an individual person skills such as passing, defense, hitting, setting, serving, and blocking. Ratings start at D and go up to A+ in the following order D, C-, C, C+, B-, B, B+, A-, A, A+. Based on your rating, you can play up to 3 levels below you and any tournament above your rating level. There is a rating committee that reviews players ratings monthly and will up your rating based on your play.

How do I get rated?
Because Connecticut is still new to Yankee Volleyball, you will only get rated if you play in MA and RI at the time being. As Yankee continues to grow in CT, we will get our own raters locally. You can also attend scrambles which will rate you base on your position.
I don't have a team, can I still play?
How do I captain a team?
Find five (5) or six (6) other players and sign up! It's that easy! Make sure all players are current in USAV
Do you have prizes?
We do! Depending on the tournaments winners will be get apparel or entry reimbursement!
